Through interactive workshops, in-service training, site visits, and one-on-one consultations, the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit helps districts align SCL practices with their broader strategic goals, ensuring coherence across initiatives and sustainable instructional transformation. By using a systems-thinking approach, we support educational leaders in embedding SCL within their existing structures, breaking down silos, and fostering coherence across practices that are not just another layer of reform, but a catalyst for deeper learning, equity, and school-wide improvement.

CoSN Generative AI Maturity Tool Training & Support

The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) is the premier professional association for school system technology leaders. CoSN provides thought leadership resources, community, best practices, and advocacy tools to help edtech leaders succeed in the digital transformation. Their Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) Maturity Tool is intended to serve as a starting point for school districts to intelligently and thoughtfully implement AI technologies that align with instructional and operational objectives.

In partnership with CoSN and AESA, the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit provides training and support for implementing the Generative AI Maturity Tool. This service supports district leadership teams in assessing and strengthening their readiness for generative AI implementation using CoSN’s K-12 Generative AI Maturity Tool, a nationally recognized framework developed in partnership with the Council of the Great City Schools. Through ongoing facilitation and support, district teams engage in structured reflection across seven readiness domains, including leadership, instruction, data privacy, legal considerations, and infrastructure to help districts identify priority areas, align AI use with instructional and operational goals, and begin developing a roadmap for safe, ethical, and strategic adoption of generative AI in K-12 settings.

Strategic Program Design & Pilots

The Educational Enterprise Services Team designs and launches innovative programs informed by district needs, market trends, and emerging educational priorities. Through a structured, research-based approach, we develop and support pilot initiatives that test new ideas, refine service models, and evaluate impact using continuous feedback and data. These pilots are intentionally designed for scalability, establishing sustainable service models and pathways for long-term implementation and funding. By integrating cross-team expertise and strategic partnerships, we strengthen internal capacity and ensure each initiative delivers meaningful outcomes and lasting value.
