Initially, this contest was part of a statewide contest sponsored by the PA Association of Intermediate Units (PAIU). Unfortunately, the statewide competition was postponed due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Students in grades K through 12 within each Intermediate Unit were to submit entries to their local Intermediate Unit for regional judging. Local winning entries were to be submitted for the final statewide competition held during the annual PAIU conference in May. The conference theme was "Kindness: The Key to Our Neighborhood," and has been rescheduled to May 2021. Despite the contest and the annual conference being postponed, the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit chose to continue the contest virtually.
